Patrick O'Brien Sr. - Obituary

Helene, from Terrace, sent me the newspaper - The Omineca Herald, Friday, August 24, 1923

The Late P. O’Brien
Patrick O’Brien was suddenly taken ill, suffering from pneumonia and internal complications, and was removed from his home to the Hazelton Hospital, where he expired on Sunday.  The remains were shipped to Usk and the funeral took place at Kitsumkalum Cemetery on Monday.  The Rev T J Marsh, rural dean, officiating.  A number of the Terrace people accompanied the remains to the cemetery and a great number of Usk and Pacific residents were present at the committal ceremony.  The numerous floral tributes showing the esteem in which he was held.  The late Mr. O’Brien held the position of section foreman for many years and was always at the forefront as a member of the community, being a school trustee and taking great interest in all matters in which the welfare of the children was concerned.  He leaves to mourn his loss a widow and three children, to whom the sympathy of the entire community of Usk has gone out.

So, Grandma must have been pregnant with Pat when he died as it says she is left with 3 children - that would be Uncle Bill, Father, and Bessie.  He died August 19, 1923...........now to find Uncle Pat's birth date.
